Module 0 · Lesson 6 of 6 · 11 min

Fix it, change it, build the next thing

One change made with a single request, a bad change undone from your backup, and your next project picked.

By the end of this lesson

  • One change was made with a single request and checked on the page.
  • A change you didn't want was undone from your backup.
  • The fixed page is live, and you have picked your next project.

A website is never finished. In this last lesson you make a change the safe way, practice undoing a change you don't like, publish the fix and pick your next project. After this, you can keep working with Claude on your own.

Steps follow Cloudflare's direct upload guide and Anthropic's checkpointing docs, checked October 18, 2026.

Steps

Step 1: Make a fresh backup

Takes about 1 min

Copy the business folder again and name the copy with today's date, as in lesson 2. One backup before every change session is the habit that makes everything else safe.

You should see

A new dated backup folder next to the working folder.

Step 2: Make one change with a single request

Takes about 2 min
Prompt for Claude
Add a line under the opening hours: "Closed on public holidays." Don't change anything else, and tell me exactly what you changed.

You should see

Claude shows the change and waits. Accept it, then open index.html again: the new line is there and everything else looks the same.

Step 3: Practice an undo

Takes about 3 min

Now make a change you will throw away, so you know how undo feels before you need it. First, back up again: copy the business folder and add -before-colors to the copy's name. This copy already has the holiday line from step 2. Then send:

Prompt for Claude
Change the whole page to a bright orange and purple color scheme.

Accept it, look at the page, and undo it from your new backup:

  1. Close the page in your browser.
  2. Open the -before-colors backup folder and copy index.html.
  3. Paste it into your working folder and choose to replace the file.
  4. Tell Claude: “I restored index.html from a backup. Read it again before your next change.”

You should see

The page as it was after step 2: the holiday line is there and the colors are back. A backup holds exactly what the folder had at the moment you copied it, so make one right before every change you are unsure about.

Stuck? Claude broke the page and I didn't make a backup

Ask Claude: “Undo your last change to index.html and show me the file.” Then start a backup habit from today.

Step 4: Publish the fix

Takes about 3 min

Update the clean site folder, then upload it again, as in lesson 5:

Prompt for Claude
Update the site folder: replace its index.html with the current one. Don't add any other files. Then list what is in site.

Approve Claude's request to copy the file. Then, in Cloudflare, open your project, go to Deployments and create a new deployment (the button's wording varies), then drag your site folder in again and choose Production.

You should see

The holiday line on your live address after you reload it on your phone.

Step 5: Pick your next project

Takes about 2 min
Prompt for Claude
Read CLAUDE.md. Suggest 3 small next projects for this business that I can check myself, each one finished in under an hour. For each one, give a one-line result and the first prompt I should send. Don't build anything yet.

You should see

Three numbered ideas, each with a one-line result and a first prompt. Nothing is built yet.

Pick one and use the same method as lesson 4: interview, plan, build, check. For more ideas and the full background, see our free guide on how to use Claude Code if you don't code.

You're done when

  • One change was made with a single request and checked on the page.
  • A change you didn't want was undone from your backup.
  • The fixed page is live, and you have picked your next project.

What you built

In about an hour you built three things: a safe business folder with a backup habit, a CLAUDE.md that tells Claude about your business, and a live website at your own .pages.dev address. Your proof is the live link: send it to one customer today.

When you want more tools for the project you picked in step 5, our guides to Claude skills and Claude plugins and connectors show what to add next.

You built a real site for a real business. What's next for yours?

Once a month, The Workfile Brief gives you one more thing to build with Claude, like a weekly report, follow-up emails or a quote, as a prompt you can copy. Plus the one Claude change that matters.
