Cookies and local storage
This site uses no cookies. We don't use analytics, ads, tracking pixels or third-party embeds, so there is no cookie banner.
A few features remember your choices in your own browser's local storage. Nothing is saved until you click, it stays on your device, and it is never sent to us.
| Name | What it does | Saved when | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
os | Remembers whether you chose Windows or Mac instructions | You click the Windows / Mac switch in a guide or lesson | Until you clear it |
progress:<guide> | Remembers which steps you ticked in a guide | You tick a step | Until you clear it |
progress:lesson:<course>:<lesson> | Remembers which steps you ticked in a lesson | You tick a step | Until you clear it |
Under the EU ePrivacy rules (in Poland: Article 399(3) of the Electronic Communications Law) and the UK PECR, storage that is strictly necessary for a feature you ask for doesn't need consent. We still list it here.
Signing up by email
The sign-up form doesn't set cookies or save anything in your browser. It sends your email address to our own server, which passes it to our email provider. We don't use a third-party CAPTCHA; our server checks each sign-up for signs of automated abuse instead.
Clear what this site saved on this device
This removes everything this site saved in your browser. Your ticked steps and your Windows / Mac choice will reset.
You can also clear site data in your browser settings at any time.
Changes
If we ever add anything that needs your consent, we will ask first and list it here.
